I drive a 2008 33’ ft wind sport RV pulling a 2007 mustang backwards behind it on a 2 wheel dolly. The steering wheel of the mustang is strapped down so there is very little movement with that. Last year there were no issues but yesterday I couldn’t go faster than 55mph without the RV swaying like crazy. No wind to speak of. Roads were normal. Just the higher speed set it off. ?????

While you may get away with towing a vehicle "backwards" it is not recommended, "highly discouraged". This is due to the propensity for uncontrollable sway that can be induced by any of a number of conditions.

The engine of the vehicle being towed backwards acts as a pendulum. Once it gets swaying, the sway action can increase exponentially. This sway or whipping action can quickly become uncontrollable.

X2. You are going to be a lot safer (and happier) if you forget towing your Mustang that way and either get yourself a flatbed trailer or a different toad altogether.

Shooooo....don’t tow backwards like others stated.
