Hello. We're traveling from Atlanta to Maine. Google wants to take up I-95 through DC, Newark, NYC, Philly, Boston, etc..... Does rvTripWizard have the capability to take us a different direction that is RV-friendly? (Clearance-wise?)

I travel that route very often when going back home to NY to visit my son. I travel 85 to 77 to 81 North... No tolls and plenty of RV friendly stops... To continue on into Mass, New Hampshire and into Maine I suggest you take I84 East through Connecticut, and then you can take 90 to 290 to 495 to 95.... 495 will deposit you on the New Hamshire Maine border.... I have travelled this route numerous times as I used to fish often win Wells Maine quite frequently while I was living in Dutchess County NY..... Safe travels..... You will miss all the major NY traffic, but will have some in Hartford, and some in Worceste Mass.. Where in Maine are you going?

We too going to Maine,Acton area, & want to avoid Atlanta, departing from Opelika alabama.Suggestions from Opelika to 81North?

To answer @uagrad1993’s question, yes.

On RVTW, go into trip settings and insert the particulars of your rig; height, weight, etc.

RVTW will suggest routes that are RV friendly based on those parameters.

Furthermore, if you haven’t already, download the RVLIFE app to use as your GPS nav while underway. It works hand in glove with RVTW.

This is pretty much what we were thinking. Thank you!

We actually have friends near Worchester, Mass (Princeton, Mass) that we'll be visiting both directions.

Our destination is in Millinocket Maine to raft the Penobscot River, but we have other stops along the way back.

Is there any way to avoid Hartford? Any two or 4 lane state highways? Or just suck it up? :)

You can bypass Hartford a couple of ways. You can take the NYS thruway north from route 84 in NY untill you get to I90... Massachusetts turnpike East to 290, but those are toll roads.... You can take Route 9north from 84 through Hyde Park, Rhinebeck, Red Hook etc until you reach I90.... Scenic route, but you will miss Hartford........What are you traveling with, Class A, Class C, travel trailer etc...?
