Hello. I live in a 2003 Gulfstream Class A. I have something moving around in my bedroom ceiling, both day and night. I hired a wildlife control specialist and he used cameras in the air vents and speakers. He didn’t see any rodent waste. I put poison up there and nothing helps. When I lived at a park with cats, that’s the only time I got relief. I cut a hole in the ceiling in the closet and see a thin layer of styrofoam. When I bang on the ceiling with my fist, it gets quiet for a few minutes and then starts again. Does anyone have any advice? Thank you in advance.

Put a mousetrap or mousetraps up there. Poison will cause you to have a lingering problem with smell.

Okay thank you. My question is where do I put it? When a camera was inserted, there wasn’t any mouse droppings. Are they burrowing in the styrofoam? I’m only asking because I can’t figure it out. Also, how are they getting up there? What space are they using to get in there? Thank you

I’m unfamiliar with your rig, so I can’t give you detailed recommendations. I would put it/them anywhere I could get them up there, as well as places that aren’t “up there”. They can enter any of several ways. All they need is an opening the size of their nose. I’ll bet that it doesn’t spend it’s entire day in the ceiling. I would also place traps in the basement or storage area, and at least one along a baseboard in the living area. Rodent control is a never ending task with these rigs. They can be pretty destructive.

Put a small piece of bacon (~1/2” sq) on the mousetrap trigger. Place the trap in the vicinity of where you are hearing the noise. The scent of the bacon will draw the mouse to the trap.

I’ve had birds moving around on the roof that sound like rodents. Something to consider.

Everything is better with bacon!
