Tip Spartan Chassis Care Kit purchase

After listening to the Spartan presentations and attendees commenting on their experiences, went over to the Red diamond trailer and purchased a Chassis Care Kit.
It includes a fan belt, fuel filter, air dryer cartridge, etc. Just in case….
At annual I’ll use the annual components and replace them with new to keep them fresh.
Better to have them on board and not need them, rather than need them and not be able to source them quickly.

Having common spares to solve common issues - love it.

Did the same thing when we rolled through Gaffney for our chassis maintenance.

Picked up spare filters and belt to carry just in case. Hopefully they stay in the spares storage container until next annual maintenance

Makes it extra important to have on board. Easy enough to replicate through online purchase from Spartan.
One thing the Presenter, Big Mike, explained about fan belts is the one Spartan uses contains Kevlar. Kevlar, unlike a rubber belt, has minimal if any stretch. And will last much longer.
Swapping out the accessories belt, On the DutchStar that requires loosening the AC compressor bolts on the back of the compressor and removing that belt first. Not a fun job.
On the luxury models of Newmar, XX Air, at least Spartan uses a tensioner on the AC belt which makes it easier.

At annual we used the filters and other items used at annual from the Kit and put the new items back in the kit. This way there are always fresh items in the kit.
