power at park we are staying at has been cut off due to a storm. No idea on when power will come back on. Question is should I disconnect from shore power will using the Onan 7500 generator or stay plugged in while using the generator.

Unplug. There might be surges etc until the power is back on steady. Your transfer switch should default to generator, but may not.

Power surges are why I don't plug into any campground electrical system without this. It will protect all your appliances and electrical of your RV. This one will also boost low voltage also.
