Good morning, my wife and I just joined the forum and have a question. We had a fifth wheel for several years and decided to switch to a class A motorhome. We found a 2005 Fleetwood Southwind 32V earlier this year with less than 45K miles. It is in great shape. The couple really hadn't used it a lot. My question is regarding the exit window. It is different than the one in our fifth wheel. This one has 2 red handles at the bottom of the window, I have tried moving the handles and pushing out on the window with no success. The owner's manual doesn't go into specifics on how to open it. My guess is that it is stuck but I don't want to break it. Any suggestions?

Welcome to RVForums. I think your guess is spot on. Maybe using something like a putty knife you could break the seal.

We had the same problem with our Winnebago. We bought it new and it was years before we tried to open ours. It was stuck. We finally got it free by spraying WD40 (from the outside) and gently applying pressure wiggling it a bit until it finally came loose. Road grime, some pine needles etc had become wedged in the opening. Now we open it often just to give it a clean too. At the same time we also discovered that the drains bult into the window frames were plugged. We used small zip ties to clean them out and now every once in a while we use "canned air" (computer spray) to keep them clear.

Good luck

Darrell
