New user here, so apologies in advance if mistakes are made. We are new owners of the RV described above and are surprised to find that we cannot operate the theater seats unless we are hooked up to shore power. Seems odd since we can extend the slide on battery power. Do we have a wiring problem?

A couple of questions for you, do you have any house batteries? If so, do you have an inverter? If yes to those questions then either the plug that the theater seat is plugged into is not powered thru the inverter. I agree it seems strange that it would be “normal” the way you describe

Check the wiring for the chairs. If they plug into the wall like a light cord that explains why.
