Just received this from one of my suppliers.
I would not doubt that they will use Motor State's sales records and go after the retailers also.
Maybe even the end user.

That happened in a town I use to work in. Shop got fine nearly $1,000,000.00.
They went after the vehicle owners also and fined them nearly $10,000.00 each.
It is also illegal a dealer to take a trade-in and resale with emission systems removed or disabled, unless they are brought back to specs.

There has been a few recent "rumors" floating around recently about this. My favorite one is the feds setting up inspection stations along the interstate highway system to actually check everyone's emissions. If they find an altered vehicle they will cite the owner and tow the vehicle.

This is not a rumor. It is a notice from one of my vendors. The other deal happened to a garage in the town where I use to be a Chevy Service Manager, about 15 years ago.

Sorry, I should have worded my post better. I'm not saying what you posted was a rumor. I'm just passing on "related" rumors that I have heard recently.

Thanks for the info.My mechanic has asked many times if I want the DEF system removed. Now it's no even a thought.
