To cover or not to cover, that is the question.

Hi,
I have a 21 ft RV trailer and was wondering about the need for a cover during non-use times. Any thoughts?

For years I covered my previous rv with a fabric cover. I have come to the conclusion that unless you are able to garage the unit, a fabric cover does little good and can potentially due harm. Keeping the rv clean and applying a GOOD WAX JOB at least once per year is now my preferred method of keeping the exterior in great shape. JMHO.
Now, if your rv has decals, they seem to fade no matter what if stored outdoors.

Spot on, @J&JD!

I just purchased a new 32Ft trailer. I had it ceramic coated, and it will be stored outside not covered. That means the roof needs to be inspected every 6 months, and I expect to be replacing brittle plastic more frequently.

Welcome from Texas. Yes a good wax is better than a cloth cover. I'm glad someone pointed that out cause at first I though you were talking about the top of my head lol and yes to covering that bad spot up. Wax want help it LOL. Skipper

Welcome, I’ve never had good luck with covers. They do not last.

Wash regularly during seasonal use, then when getting ready to put it up for the season, a good liquid wax wash and a quality roof cleaner to clean that area as well.
