Hello all,
Planning a trip to the UP next summer. Anyone done any camping in the UP? We have a 30’ travel trailer. Any suggestions greatly appreciated. Possibly looking at central location with day trips in different directions.

We stayed in St Ignace at Lakeshore RV Park. It's convenient if you want to visit Mackinac Island. It's only about 50 miles to view the Soo Locks. Picture Rocks RV Campground in Munising if you want to spend some time at Pictured Rocks National Seashore.

Check out Manistique Lakeshore Campground. Very nice campground on the shores of Lake Michigan and fairly central if you want day trips. We have stayed there a couple of times and ventured to Pictured Rocks, Kitch-iti-kipi, Oswald's Bear Ranch and a few lesser known attractions. Get your reservations early as the lakefront sites all book up for the year on Jan 1st.

I'll second Aune-Osborn. If you do plan to use it, book ASAP as it is very popular. Watching the Great Lakes Freighters is awesome and a tour of the Soo locks is very worthwhile.
