My 2000 Dutch Star did not have a factory water filter. Can someone tell me where these line on this one run to. (Pic for reference.. not my coach)

In from city water out to fresh tank.
 
I've never had mine apart and I believe @Neal has so his answerer may be the best. My thought is it is between the city water source and the input to the tank fill / city water valve. This would provide filtered water into the tank when the valve is in the fill position and and into the coach when in the off / city water position.
 
That is correct, I missed that point. There is a valve that takes the water to fill the fresh tank or direct into coach aft of the filter.
 
Ok, Thanks. It may be over kill, but I am filtering water coming in, and now understand it is switched after it is filtered to go to the fresh tank or directly to the coach. (Thanks for the clarification) I am also adding a filtration system to the kitchen.

If you remove the shower head thing on the left and instead install a hot and cold water spigot it will work much better.
 
Okay, on further thought, let's clarify what happens after the house filter.

If you have autofill ON and the fresh tank is not full the water goes to the fresh tank

If you have autofill ON and the fresh tank is full, it goes into the coach

If you have autofill OFF it goes into the coach

This is why if you have autofill on and it's filling your tank you will need to have your water pump ON to get water pressure in the coach. There is also no reason to turn off your water pump although I bet most of us do. If the water pump senses sufficient pressure coming from city water the water pump will not run. Only when the pressure is insufficient at the water pump will it turn on.

My "autofill" is me watching to see when water comes out the overflow hose. ?
 
A cheaper alternative is an external dual water filter setup. Then no need to mess with plumbing inside coach. We had both in Yuma, AZ since water is very bad tasting. It did not fix taste so much, but it did keep all that sand out of the water system. Wells you know in the desert. I keep external filter assembly in coach for those places where the water might be suspect.

Neal, et-al, yes, we turn off WP switch at night, or when we leave coach. Normally fill up tank, and use tank water to keep it freshened up all time. If you leave autofill off, and services bay valve to autofill position and city valve on, tank can overfil, and put lots of water on gound. I did that one time. Remember also, if tank is full, and you use the "shower hot water miser" thing, that returns water into the TANK, regardless of wheather you have tank on or city water fill on, so if tank is full or close to full, it will overfill tank if not careful. To keep "gotchas" at bay, that is another reason to fill tank and use it, instead of city water, then never overfill tank. When it gets to 50% empty, I just turn on city water, and enable autofill on panel, and top off as well, then it takes tank to 95% and stops. Top off goes off, and autofil stays lit, turn off city water at valve, and good to go. You still have extra empty space in tank for the shower thing.
