Yesterday I went to the coach to exercise the gen, run the engine a little, air up, clean up, organize, etc. I have yet a few more weeks before I can hit the road for a 2-3 monther. While in the RV I just realize how much I love my coach having made it my own with my mods, etc. but also it gives me happy vibes. I'm trying to dig deep to figure out why I love RVing so much.

Is it that it simplifies life, less stuff, simple is better? Is it an escape and constant change of surroundings? Is it the joy of exploring? Is it YOU, the great friends I've made in the past six years since I started? Yeah, I know, all of the above.

What is it about RVing for you that brings you joy in this lifestyle? What do you love about RVing or love "most" about RVing?

It is all of the above but mostly, for us, it is Memories. In the end, that is all we can take with us. We also like to escape the harsh winters of Canada.

It’s all those things and also just getting away from my project list and being unavailable for any needs that may arise at home. It‘s a bit like sailing - I once realized as I headed out to sea that all the problems I had ever had were on land. At sea it was just me and nature and I was comfortable with whatever happened, including sailing in a fairly robust tropical storm.

RVing is a lot more predictable, and help and resources are readily available for the most part, so its easier, but I get the same unplugged feeling when I’m many miles from home. We are having a wedding at our home in June (granddaughter) and once thats done, I can guarantee that we will disappear for a couple months.

I like the open road and driving my coach while seeing this great country and interacting with all kinds of people that you meet at truck stops or parks etc. We are taking our longest trip this summer for 2.5 months and looking forward to seeing places we have never been yet. We are attending our first Marathon rally in September in Washington and we have never attended a rally before. It’s a great way to meet other owners and see the Seattle area.

Just completed our fist, of many I hope, year full timing. No particular order. Except for #1.

Wherever we are we sleep in our own bed.
Seeing this country at ground level.
Less “stuff”.
Our schedule.
The people we meet.

We are just starting out and today is the first full day of our first trip other than shuttling the RV back to the mothership after purchasing it. We both just have this feeling of peacefulness and I think it comes from leaving the day to day responsibilities behind even on a temporary basis.

Definitely looking forward to seeing more of this great continent and the different regional cultures we know must be out there. Can't tell you for sure what our top reasons will be, but most of the ones that have been called out are the reasons why we are undertaking this venture. That, and the "Where were you with..." threads that everyone adds to that highlight some really great places to visit.

Hoping we can add to this thread in a year with real experiences.

I think ours is our vacation home. Our vacation home is at home so we can maintain, pack, clean, prepare, etc., but it is still the vacation home and triggers memorties and good vibes of when it's parked in a great camp and we're having our adventures.

We, as others have said, love traveling in our own moving little home. Sometimes, just the drive is a real highlight with the vistas you can enjoy with a huge front window. There is no way we could enjoy traveling for two or three months moving in and out of motels. When you have your own bed, food, washer/dryer etc., you can really enjoy extended travel without getting worn out.
We have been rving for about 17 years now, and still have a long list of spots we want to visit, some new, others that we want to revisit for longer periods of time. We love our home, but are always looking forward to our next rv adventure. Judy D.

edit:
And being able to travel with a little furry thing riding along. 😁 Jd

Wheels!!!
When you have a bad neighbor you can pack up and move on! Of course I couldn't say that if I used reservations, the major reason I refuse such nonsense.
Yup the life I live, I would not trade for a million mansions! I love the simple life. For the record, I have had to fix things at sea, with less than the proper replacement parts, and there is much, very much to be said good, about sitting alongside a country road waiting for your replacement parts to arrive!!!
Reaction is 90% of a wonderful life!!!
