Most jeep models with a 4x4 transfer case. You can look at most owners manuals on the make website for a vehicle you like. There are lots of rumors on what can be. The owners manual will tell

Here is a source, however, the owners manual for the specific vehicle you are considering is the only reliable source.
Many times a model and year may be listed but some times it depends on specific transmission and engine combination for a specific vehicle.

I have a guide from Motorhome magazine that lists all vehicles that can be flat towed and their weights etc. They are now called RV Magazine, I still have the old website on my laptop and it still loads the files, mine only goes to 2022, give it a try.
www.motorhome.com they call it dinghy towing guides

Regarding the Escape, mine is a 2014 with all wheel drive and the book says it cannot be flat towed, I tow a 2007 Chevy Malibu LTZ automatic and it is flat towable, I would have guessed the reverse but I have towed the Malibu about 5000 miles with no issues.

Do a search for dinghy towing guide and all the years will show up.
