Seems like pilots become RVers. Probably because we enjoy travel, scenery, etc. Roll call, who are the pilots that are also RVers? Past or present? What did you fly and do you currently fly?

For me: C-152, C-172, T-37, T-38, F-16 (back seat only), A-10 (2500 hrs), CC11 - Sport Cub

Me and Doris, we are both instrument rated. Not flying anymore. I built my own plane from scratch. Not a kit.

When I was 25 I wanted to get my pilots license. I completed ground school then, and took flight lessons at the airbase in Darmstadt, West Germany. I had about 15 hours of flying time and then life got in the way.

Fast forward 20 years, one wife, four kids, and a few businesses later, and I now had the money and could make the time to complete the requirements. I did so and now have my private pilots license. I can now scratch it off my bucket list.

I have now sold the latest business, bought an RV (MADP) and haven’t flown since. Not sure I ever will, but it’s good to know the license doesn’t expire. I can pick it up again if so desired.

Hated school - both grade school and high school. After I graduated high school it took two years for me to find out that I needed to do something with my life. Realized that I loved to fly. Ended up going to college to get a bachelors degree in aviation management. Also discovered ROTC and was going to go into the Air force until life took me down a different route. Graduated with a degree and flew Cessna 150, 152, 172, 172RG, and the multi- engine 310. Instrument rated as well. It has been a very long time since I last flew, but still always brings a smile to my face whenever I think about it. Thanks for the question!

My previous career afforded me the pleasure of owning my own airplanes. Piper Warrior, Beach Sundowner, V-Tail Bonanza. I received most my ratings in my own airplanes. Private Pilot license in 1990. I flew Charter, Cargo, Skydivers, Part 135 and 121. I currently fly for Republic Airways out of DCA. Republic Airways is a Regional Airline that fly's for American, United and Delta in the Embraer 175. 14,000+ hours. My dad was career Air Force so I grew up watching planes all my life. My favorite flight ..... flying Buzz Aldrin from Key West to DCA. He was a hoot. The plan is to retire sometime in the next 12 months then explore the US in our Ventana LE.

While I don’t have my license I have been very fortunate to have rides in some cool aircraft. As a weapons officer in the Air Force during the Vietnam War I got rides in C130’s (AKA Klong Airlines), F4E, B52‘s and even got to check out an SR71 but no ride, unfortunately. My first ride was in a Piper Cub in the early 50’s with my dad as the pilot. Still remember it. But the best rides (other than in the F4) were in a Citaborea learning acrobatics over Livermore and an incredible ride in an Extra 300 aerobatic over Monterey Bay that left me about as sick as you can get. Flying is cool stuff indeed if you get the right ride.

My husband was a professional pilot all his life. 20 years Air Force , then with PanAm and then 19 years with Sun Country Airlines. Cesna 150, Cesna 172, T37, T38, C7A, KC135, VC135, Boeing 727, Dc 10, Boeing 737 800 and he still dreams of flying. How lucky to do what you love all your life.

When I was 28 my bf sent me up with his test pilot in a single engine columbia 400 (they built and maintained them in central oregon) as a Christmas present. I signed up for a training class at the local community college but not enough people signed up so it was cancelled. I had a baby a year later so never got back to it.
One of these days. :)

You need only 88 mph with this. I ordered as a special on the new DS.
