Winter storage and how to keep mice out of your motorhome

New to the site and I wanted to see what other Tiffin owners do in the winter to keep mice out of your coach at storage time. THANK YOU

I have been storing successfully for years with mothballs which have to be replaced because they evaporate. I place them under the vehicle on the concrete. As they disappear during the off season I replace them. I have also used peppermint oil on cotton balls but they weren't as effective as the mothballs.

Hi and Welcome to RVforums from Ely, Iowa. I use grandpa Gus's products. Also softener sheets. Last year I also put in Ultrasonic plug in devices to keep mice out. I do keep the coach powered up to maintain the batteries.

Here’s what I’ve used for over four decades with success, although models have varied over the years. Note: When these units are on Loud, you will NOT be inside with them...unless perhaps you are hard of hearing.

When I had a MH the ultrasonic units did fine inside! Then they found a great nesting area in the engine compartment!

For that I found a strobe designed for the job!

With a well sealed trailer I kissed those problems goodbye!

Mice haven't chewed through any steel wool stuffed around pipes, and old CDs around any cables still connected to your rig seems to make a good barrier!

Probably goes without saying BUT - be 100% sure every speck of any food, crumbs and all, are cleaned out. No matter the container, everything consumable by a person needs to be cleaned out.
I addition to that, we used dryer sheets as well. Placed them under the coach, on top of all tires, and in storage compartments. Seemed to work.
