Question Wiper arm slipping

On the luxury lines, the wiper are hidden by a cosmetic trim piece that is not part of the generator slide.

Has anyone replaced wiper arms on these? Do you remove the fiberglass section first?
@redbaron ... I am replacing my arms right now and that cosmetic trim piece is very easy to remove. It makes changing the arms 200% easier. Not sure you could even do it without removing as the arm springs are very strong and pulling them away from the glass and then getting the spindle on/off the post is a challenge. Here are some pictures.

In a pinch if stuck on the road you can take the arm off, put a layer of aluminum foil around the splined shaft, then put the arm back on and tighten. This may keep it from slipping until you can fix it.

My on the trail Jeep wiper fix was to cut strips from an aluminum beverage can to use as shims then gently tap the wiper arm to seat it. It worked so well, I never did do a real fix.
 
Loctite makes a product for motor shaft to pully installation. It is not loctite for bolts, it is for motor shafts and keyways. Sounds like good area to use on. It will fill all gaps so that there is 100% contact area between the shaft and splined surface.
