Saw that Spartan Chassis has partnered with Red Diamond on their RunFlat system. Looks like it has been around for several years out in the wild and doesn't require special tools to install or remove. That said, even though they have been around quite some time I've only heard about competing systems.

Anybody have the Red Diamond RunFlat installed? Likes/dislikes/etc.? I was hoping local Spartan service centers would do the install, but it looks like the nearest place to me that does them is down in California according to their web site.

Best,

Know this is an older one but…

We are having them installed on our Superstar in June.

Going to the Spartan factory for the install since we have an appt at the mothership for the items we put in warranty list before our year was up.

Had to provide the wheel model number for them to verify they could be installed since we are on a Freightliner chassis.

They have been around for quite a while being provided to the military for use.

From what I gather the concept for the Red Diamond /Retroband is excellent. Just need to be installed correctly.
Both systems have failed in the past due to installation errors.
We have Retrobands but are Red Diamond band is at least as good in my opinion.
Best of luck with your installation. We had the Retroband installed at NIRVC in Atlanta. Hopefully they were able to do it correctly.

Yeah, Red Diamond has a lot of installation centers but figured the factory would be best since it is only couple hours away from the mothership.

We are scheduled to have installed in late July and installing new tires which will be 5 years old. This is being done at Charlotte, MI along with our annual service.

I really like the design of the Red Diamond better than the Retrobands... the fact you can still roll on the Red Diamond run flats for at least a few miles is a benefit. Plus the fact of how they were initially developed is to me more detailed than a simple spacer that the Retroband really is..

Well, ours were installed today - interesting day at the Spartan Service Center since a Freightliner super c pulled in for service 😊

Was cool to see the sample in the waiting area and how they work if needed.

Ended picking up some magna shade tire covers as well.
