Quick update:

I purchased one of these (about $400.00) and I have to say that I'm impressed, so far anyway. I don't know how they work, but it's pretty phenomenal if you ask me. I'm getting 1,600 "free" programs, and many of them are programs that I currently am paying for through other subscription services. Case in point, we have Dish Network at home and it costs me around $200 a month. The Superbox provides me with all the same programming that I get on Dish Network (all the programs that I generally watch anyway) and aside from the upfront cost of the Superbox, there is no additional charge. These are all "live programs", so it differs from other streaming services where you can go watch all the old "Columbo" movies in a row.

The box has a voice command functionality, so you can press the button and ask for Fox News, CNN, Hallmark, etc., and the options will be displayed on the screen for you to select from. There is even a 7 day playback function, so if you wanted to go back and watch the Superbowl, you can.

And if you still want to subscribe to services like "Peacock", you can. Just download the app and assign it a menu selection on the screen. Now you can use the Superbox the same way you would use any other streaming service.

I'll be curious to hear your review after spending a little time with your new toy...'cuz there's a good chance I'll want one, too. Let us know how it goes! And, why haven't we heard from @Neal on this one? Or is he waiting on his new, slower Amazon delivery?

Sorry, what? I was out flying my 17 drones...what did I miss?

Interesting for sure. Keep us updated, Jim.

OK, I took my (old) cell phone out and did a quick video of some of the channels that are available. It's almost like this is a basket of all the stations that are available, and then the different streaming companies grab what they need and feed them to the audience in the area that they want to serve.

IP TV is such a grey area when it comes to legality. There was a couple of domestic IP TV providers but were quickly shut down by the FCC within a couple weeks/months after launch because of lack of licensing rights, copy-writes etc.

There was a guy selling a similar box at the big tent show in Quartzsite this past January for about the same price. When I questioned him about the origin of the service, all he would admit to was "off shore" and there was no guaranty how long it would work. Although I am still very intrigued by this, I'd like one, but I'm not sure I want to spend the money on the box and then not able to use it if the FCC finds a way to block the various IP addresses. So, never say never, I look forward to learning more about your experience. In a weak moment, I still just might buy the box!

During the initial setup procedure, you have to agree that the seller isn't selling any copyrighted material and the end user takes responsibility for any illegal infringement. Or something to that degree. And I agree that it's probably only a matter of time before "somebody" plugs this hole. But it's been available now for several years, and in my case, if I only used it for 2 months, it would offset the money I'm paying to Dish Network.

Also, it's worth noting that many of the programs that it receives are not illegal to broadcast, and are supported by the ad's that are displayed. Much like TV before the satellite providers got into the game. And I'm OK with supporting the provider by watching the ads. I just don't want to pay Dish Network $200 a month and STILL have to watch ads.

This seem similar to when they were programming the Amazon firesticks a few years ago where you can get all these channels and new movies.
