Top Tier Gasoline

Very interesting! 
Luckily, our 2 favorite stations are Costco & Kroger.
However, our favorite motorhome station is/was Love's Truck Stops (mostly due to dog runs)
; Speedway is also out! (It's big around here)

 
In Canada, Safeway has switched to Shell gasoline.
 
We usually use Love's or Kroger. The only problem we had was with a Love's in Norman, OK. Cut the gas mileage by 20%.
 
For engines that sit for long periods of time not running, I'm all about filling with the no ethanol dead dinosaur juice - its usually not Top Tier, mostly unbranded. Top Tier fuel - yes, I heartily recommend it 99 percent of the time - Chevron, Shell or Exxon, usually. But I don't like cleaning carburetors and fuel injection systems from the damage that the ethanol causes in attracting moisture out of the air.

I will readily pay the nearly one dollar extra per gallon that the no ethanol fuel costs because overall, I don't use that much. And my generators, weed eaters, chain saws, lawn mowers and old cars all thank me.

That article is nothing but hogwash. Since I started driving in 1978 I've always used whatever gasoline was cheapest at the fuel station I happened to be. It didn't matter if it was 7-11, Kroger, Circle K, Rebel, or any other mon & pop fuel station. Even fuel at a store in the middle of nowhere while hunting.
People who think their vehicle runs "better" on top tier gas are just deluding themselves and paying extra $$ for nothing.

I've had bad gas & watered gas 3 times. 1 cost me several thousands due to having to discount a car I was selling just to get it sold. Another, I needed to get towed by the Coast Guard after having paid well over $1 more for gas at a marina. The last was a cough & sputter episode 8-10 miles to the closest gas station to 'refresh' the bad gas!

That has more to do with how much traffic the station gets and consequently how often they're changing out their inventory than if it's "top tier".

Fully agree regarding ethanol. I'll always use Sta-bil in the low use engines too.

Would you like to explain how top tier gas emproves engine life. Please give the science, not the hype!

Really?! Is not using "top tier" gas going to cause the engine to self destruct at say 50k miles? I seriously doubt it.

I think you are getting fast and loose with facts and quotes.
