How much coffee grinds to use?

I have been careless about how much coffee to grind with my drip brewer and have most likely been using too much. Yesterday's brew didn't taste that great so I figured it's time to do my homework. A quick google search says 1-2 tablespoons per 6 oz of coffee. So this morning I did my job of following the guidance and it's amazing how much better it tastes!!!

Yeah, I know...a little behind on these things...okay, a lot!

For a 12 cup coffee maker it’s 1.25 to 1.5 cups of ground coffee.

The darker the roast, go less on the grind to offset the bitter. I have a really dark bean I like and it’s a 1.25cup for the perfect taste.

I also think it tastes better in a larger portion than it does in the kcup, but that’s probably a personal preference

I use right at 1.5 tablespoons per cup.

I have been weening myself down from the pot of coffee a day I used to drink to where I now put 4 cups in the brewer if it's just me drinking coffee. Sure do sleep a lot better but miss that all day coffee.

I drink one mug a day (or not at all). I add three scoops (don't know the size) to the stove top espresso pot, and three or four crushed cloves in hot water used to dilute the espresso. I use my burr grinder for very finely ground coffee (goes further that way). Because I use a burr grinder I get less oil so not at all bitter.

Easy peasy: I use Keurig cups. Pre measured and fresh every time.

WOW! You guys like strong coffee. I put three tablespoons in the filter for the 12-cup line on the Mr. Coffee carafe, but we both use flavored creamers. (I also use about 3/4-shot of irish cream in just one cup a day.)
Am I waayyyy under-use on the grounds?

We love our Moccamaster. 55 grams of coffee per 6 ounces of water. Luckily their scoop makes it easy to get close to that number for a pot of coffee.

Just got the smaller Moccamaster for the RV last month and I left the bigger one at the S&B rather than moving it back and forth.

The thing I like the most is that the Moccamaster is as simple as can be. No thinking needed first thing in the morning.

I usually mix a couple of different brands/roasts together for my daily drink. I put it in mason jars and just shake out about half a filter depth in my Mr. Coffee.
Maybe I should measure it and see how much I'm really using...

I use 6 heaping and 1 level of the measuring spoon that comes with my coffee. I have no idea if it is the recommended or what, it just tastes right to me after experimenting over time. I suspect it's more than called for.

Used to be a few pots a day when I first got out but, when the choices are water, koolaide, powdered milk, or coffee - you get hooked on coffee.

Does depend on the coffee and I adjust if needed depending on what I buy based on sales.
