Need RV that can tow, 2010 Toyota Tundra
So I noticed almost all RVers have them. Has anyone gotten the "Patriot Power Generator 2500X. Or any of their generators? If you have any kind of generators can you tell me the ones that work for you and why. Also, can you tell me the ones you got rid of and why. I am trying to get my ducks in a row for when I buy one. Thank you for all your RV wisdom. Have a blessed day from Texas.

Our rig has a built in 8500 watt Onan diesel generator and it is great. For the size it is very quiet. We also at times will carry a small 2000 watt Predator gas generator in the bed of our toad. We use this when we boon dock and do need to run our ac or microwave. The small generator will charge our coach and chassis batteries as needed and run our fridges, tv and lighting while charging. The Predator runs about 8 hrs. on a tank of fuel which is maybe 1/2 gallon so it is quite efficient and quiet as well. When we run this we do keep it quite a distance from the coach just in case there would be an issue with it.

If you want a quiet reliable portable generator you can't go wrong with a Honda.

I had to look up a "Patriot Power 2500X" and I see it isn't a generator at all, just one of those boxes with batteries in it. I never did quite get the idea of those for an RV that already has a "house battery" bank built in. Since I have such an RV I've not looked into such really. Ours has an onboard Onan, house batteries, and I have a smaller portable Predator 2000 when I want quieter power but don't need as much as the noisier Onan makes.

Much as I like the idea of solar it makes zero economic sense for the particular way we use our RV. For other folks I have no doubt it's great.

I make it a practice to steer clear of products, services, non-profits ( which only means after we take our cut nothing's left) /charities, etc., with patriot, liberty, freedom in the name. In obeyance with Samuel Johnson's 1875 pronouncement " Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel".

Solar is expensive and has many challenges, first being most preferred sites are, in the shade.
