FYI Newmar 2024 DPDS slide out routine

Surprisingly, after reading the User Manual on the proper slide out and leveling jack routines, (after 2 years of ownership) the slides should be extended when at ride height without the jacks extended.
After the slides are out and stable then extend the stabilizing jacks.
This is routine described in the User Manual starting at page 246.

That works if you are on ground thats close to being level. If not near level, I check all the slide out corners so not touching anything. They say thats how there built on chassis with air, But their building is perfectly flat.

Agreed….we always check the “reveal”, which is the gap along the FWS to ensure it is pretty close to even up and down before deploying.

Same on our Superstar.

They do add a caveat about checking the reveal (and as mentioned if not on level ground) to try putting jacks down to level then do the slides - at least in our manual it is written that way.

Newmar diesels have been like this since about 2015. Always surprised when this topic comes up weekly one place or another.
The theory is they are installed while sitting on factory suspension, not hyd jacks.

Yes there are several points in the user manual on checking the reveal around the slide outs and surrounding area for obstruction.
We do not have FWS but intend to follow the mfg process going forward.
