Really appreciate all the input received so far from my possibly dumb questions. This is a new motorhome and things have changed a lot since my old Class A of this size in 2000. Our last unit was a 28 foot Class B+ with no jacks and two slides. This unit has a full wall slide out. It is not terribly deep but it is the entire length of the driver side. I am curious how mandatory it is to have the jacks down if we are level and want to extend the slide out for a night or two without the jacks. I have read many opinions but none from Coachmen owners and it isn't really addressed in the online owners manual that I could find. Any Coachmen owners out there with input?

We had a 32 foot Forester with the full wall slide on the drivers side.

May not be deep but it is heavy and we were advised to always have the jacks down when extending the slide.

Made sense to me since the slide will stress everything and the jacks help with stability.

Just what we did every time…

I did not operate a slide unless the coach is level. The jacks down take care of level.
You will get different answers from people.

I suggest that it's better to be safe than sorry. A level coach, in sure will be easier on the slide gearing.
