I'm the one that mentioned the Greenlane app in the prior post. I got the Greenlane card in early May as a supplement to the Open Roads fuel card. Because the Greenlane card works at Pilot, Flying J, and Petro in addition to Loves, TA, and Maverick it gives me more fueling options than what I had with just Open Roads.

From what I understand, the Greenlane app was developed for and is currently used primarily by truckers. I heard about the app from a friend and decided to look into it. When I was doing my due diligence I asked how they make their money and was told they are a fuel cooperative and make their money on the difference between what they buy the fuel for and what they sell it for. Pretty straight forward. When I signed up I spoke to a person named Jessica at 1-844-906-0480. I'm sure she can do a better job answering questions about the company.

We just got back from a month long 3,000 mile trip out West. I used the Greenlane app for fueling and it worked very well. You pull up to the pump, open the app, select the amount of fuel/DEF you want, authorize the transaction, swipe the Greenlane card and begin fueling. Simple and quick. The Savings between Open Roads and Greenlane were similar. Some locations higher. Some locations lower. Generally within a couple of cents.

I have no affiliation with Greenlane other than as a customer.
Curious as to how you determine how much fuel you wanted. Or are you able to set it so you can fill up?

You preselect the amount of fuel & DEF when you start the app. I always over estimate the amount of fuel/DEF I need by 20-30 gallons. The app then sets that as the maximum for the transaction. Then you fill up and are charged for the actual amount of fuel pumped.

That's right, you're only charged for what you pump, not what you authorized. It's better to overestimate to prevent the need for a second transaction. If you authorize 50 gallons but need 55 gallons, you'll need a second authorization for the extra 5 gallons.
