NIRVC has been pre selling Newmar DPs as fast as they could order them. Does not seem like that level is having no issues.
Seem a lot of people see Newmar as the "Choice". Some special glasses and drinking the Kool-aide. They do offer some great floorplans and features. Some of that popularity may be due to not being a Thor, Rev, or Forest River product.

But, aren't they owned by Winnebago now?
As a question is Winnebago investing in them so they can make a better product or drawing from them to stay a float? Winnebago no longer making DPs? Consolidation somehow. Been together I believe since 2019. Is the plan for Newmar to make the better stuff and Winnebago, Itasca the other stuff? As of now no plan to be in that market anytime soon so I do not have much interest. Should there be another rig it will probably be an older one again.

So we can talk facts. Winnebago has done nothing to touch or change the Newmar business plan or manufacturing. They have basically been hands off. They bought Newmar as a class a line and got rid of their class a manufacturers. Research and knowledge are key to discussion, speculation is not.
I personally do not buy used, nothing wrong as you can find some great rigs with honest owners.
At the Tampa show I looked at American Coach. The simple test for me is I open a drawer and look/feel the top of the drawer box. If its crap or splintery, where else did they cut corners.

I can't count how many forums I've left because of this very reason...and how many I've seen dissolve because of it.

Otherwise - another one will bite the dust.

Disagreement and discussion are fine, but bullying because you've been here longer than me or someone else should not be acceptable by the administrator.
It is what it is as since the 90s BBS days, it's been common for each bbs to eventually form a clique of people, then become the driver of the board.
one board I was at was a boating one and not being banned as that coterie demanded, one account then literally kept posting to everyone, almost begging them to ignore me.
These accounts seemed to be adults, but it was sort of fascinating how it seemed like the old HS clique became real. Fascinating.

I told them what would happen to the board after I left as it always turns out that way, then after I left a few of the 'lord' accounts posted new threads a lot, but that was artificial, so it didn't last...and that board became what it was before I went there...a ghost town of a few tired old accounts waiting to pounce upon the next new account they don't approve of.

I don't mind it as, well, I joined the military instead of going to high school, so I never was in that phase.

I am about to leave this forum as this guy just posts negativity and attacks anyone who disagrees with him.
Before you leave, would you post some examples so we know what you're talking about?
A few have already blocked him but I do not block, I just eventually leave.
PS He does not even own an rv
2x you've mentioned leaving, yet you are still here. Good thing I'm not the person you are having such a hard time with as you're still reading, quoting and posting personal attacks at me.

again, before you leave, post this person so we can see how you know that he/she does not even own an rv.

Thanks. Information is power.

The ignore feature works well here.
Just saying 😊
But if an account blocks someone, how can they keep "fighting" with them?

From the ToS, but really, if one just posts like an adult and drop the emotional reactions, it's really very eay. A good way to check one's post is to see if there are any adjectives in it, or non flattering nouns in it, directed at another account. Or that account's post.

"Didn't read your drivel" was used here at me. If one didn't read it, then how would they know it's "drivel"? Another, in this thread, is stating I post "clickbait". How do I benefit from someone reading what I wrote? I don't. These are great examples of people responding to another account out of emotion. That's no way to interact with others, IMHO.

If I read something I don't care for or agree with.....I just don't respond to it. No one made me read it. If one is incapable of not emotionally reacting to something, then they could do the blanket "ignore" thing for an account. That is an option here as with most boards.

Now I want to know who this account is who doesn't even have an RV.
admin/owner chimed into a thread I posted here and was not believing I have an RV. I stated I did, 2.5 of them. I could take a picture of them, but what would that prove? I can take a picture of my neighbors for all anyone knows. And would the content of my threads/posts be any different if I had 10 RVs? Or 1? Or none? Or a 850 grand dp? I say 'no'.

I'd go as far as to say most of the posts here aren't about an RV.
There's only so much one can talk about with their RV anyway.
RV lifestyle covers a lot and the patio seems like a general discussion forum instead of RV only or specific.

The horizontal consolidation of manufcturers/distributors has been taking place, well, since the 90s. At present, in the rv world, it's the 'big three' who have bought a lot of the other mfgrs. Look at what happened in the boat sector and that's the best example of buying up a whole market sector by one entity. The driver behind the purchasing of other boat mfgrs talked about "the white space" in their organizational chart relative to the market. That meant they did not own anything in that space, thus white space on their whiteboard. So they purchased Lund and now own that space in that market.

The "grow by aquisition" is what's happening in these cases. Buying up the competition and you'll control enough market share people will have to buy from something you own. So you don't have to focus on maybe how a brand was developed and marketed and instead look at how that brand impacts the overall value of your business ownership portfolio. Again, Lund boats is a wondeful example of this, how the aquisition changed the business plan of that company.

And if a large holding company owns 10 different companies in the same sector, they can change things w/o much thought in one as they have 9 other ones in there.

Market domination isn't good for the consumer on so many levels. This also explains the skyrocketing pricing too. And shoddy workmanship. And not honoring warranties. And......

why? because they don't have to
