Hi everyone. Can you tell me what you know about taking the Cummins 380hp up to 450hp. It has the Allison 3000. Fleetwood chassis, Discovery LXE 40E. Would like a little extra umph for towing.
Our local shop claims a Cummins factory authorized dealer will up-tune it with the Allison and warranty. Thx!

What year and engine? The ISL 8.9L is offered in trims up the 450 HP. Slight increase in torque and RPM limit tis increased. That is most of the HP gain. For your engine you need to check with Cummins with the serial number, and they will advise if your engine can be upgraded. This will be based on the critical parts list, (CPL). Your cooling system also needs to be confirmed for capacity. It may be only the 400HP and 425HP can be brought up 450HP.
