New to the forum and restoring a 1955 canned ham trailer to take to Alaska
Hard part is done, now for the rebuild!!!!
Many questions-
1. Thinking of replacing axle? Before I sandblast frame and repaint.
2. I notice during demolition that the floor was made up of 1/2 celotex insulation and 1/2” plywood on top. Question- Thinking of 1/2” marine plywood and fill in in frame with 1 1/2” foam board. 1/2” plywood enough?
3. Have sidewalls layed out in pole barn to duplicate new ones. Question- Thinking on adding a foot (or 2) to length. Has anyone else done this?
4. Thinking one piece fiberglass for sides (no seam). I assume I would need to glue this to 1/8” luan?
5. One piece aluminum for ceiling. Old framing had 4’ pieces, lots of seams and SCREWS.
That will get me started.
Thanks,
Joe
