I noticed this morning we are coming up on 400 threads in the Newmar Forum, all of the others are still less than 10.

It would be great if all the other forums were as active! I think one of the reasons for the Newmar Forum activity is that in the early days of RVF, many of us came here from another Newmar forum on Brand X. Word of RVF spread quickly through that group. Now, we need to spread the word to a much broader group.

There has been a pretty good influx of travel trailer, 5th wheel and Class C folks in recent months and it is great to see them. Hopefully, they will start to post more in those forums as well. That's not to say that they should stay in their own forum; far from it. Many times, posts are of interest across the board. And, many of us have had several different types of RVs over the years and still maintain an interest in the broader scope of RVing.

Well this sounds familiar...

The Newmar majority from the start is obvious because of our connections. I hope everyone from all brands will continue to spread the word and get all other brand clubs/forums active. It will happen in time. We aren't even one year old yet and we are growingly rapidly and most of all I really like how respectful, friendly, and constructive everyone here is. I realize some don't get pineapple yet, but they will. Be patient.

Pineapple? I "get" pineapple! I love pineapple! I just don't love it with tomato sauce, cheese and mushrooms spread over a pizza crust...unless it's free! :ROFLMAO:

Keep in mind too that many people will post in the top section of the site and not in a brand specific area. I try to not move anything unless it really should be somewhere else and let people land their questions where they choose. Newmar owners are more like gang members (gangsta's) and like to keep within their group when in some cases the posts should be in other forums of the site more fitting to the topic. Regardless, content is growing nicely, it seems people are quickly getting the hang of the site and enjoying the fun features.

That brings with it a question that's been rolling around in my head; would it be better to just have the general RVing categories and then a set of forums by type rather than brand? Instead of having brand-specific forums, have sections for travel trailers, 5th wheels, Class C motorhomes, Class B vans, Class A motorhomes and "other RVs." Not trying to redesign RVF; just thinking out loud.

I like the brand specific forums and people like to chat among their like brand owners. This is why it was so popular over there and here. It's interesting of the different brands who are online forum types vs. others. Newmar people like to chat among their peers more than others from what I've observed on other sites.

I remember reading someone's signature tag line that went something like this:
"Nobody knows your coach as well as the person that owns one like yours."
That is not an exact quote but has the same intent.
I have found that to be very true on more than one occasion.
I rarely visit any forums that are not Newmar or Freightliner.
