Sometimes we all get in a hurry and starting up the coach might be one of those times. At the Spartan Academy, they caution students to take you time when starting up the coach as this helps to insure that all the sensors stay in sync and can help avoid those pesky check engine warning messages. They publish this guide -

With all due respect to the folks at Spartan, I can't get to Step 1 without starting the coach! Suspension needs to be aired up so that I can properly bring the slides in. "Mind the gap," remember?

Good catch!

Could be true. But if you parked it and didn’t deploy your jacks, as we often do, it might already be at ride height.

Since Newmar wants you to bring in the FWS (on the newer coaches) when you have the coach at ride height, we often have to air up as the first step. So we follow steps 2 and 3 and then shut down and do steps 1, 4 and 5.

Obviously, Spartan didn’t observe Newmar’s house related instructions when formulating their checklist.
