I regret to inform all of you that I pulled my application to travel to MARS. After spending the last 10 days at Lake Powell, Page, AZ which has to be a clone of MARS, I feel I've seen enough of MARS and have no intention of visiting that planet again! Please respect my wishes as I sort through the emotions of this decision.

You might also want to avoid the "Lava Lands" of Central Oregon if you head out that way one day.

Very interesting part of the country with incredible views. I wonder what the black smooth rock hills are about an hour south of Page on 89A is. This must be a geologist’s dream.

I’ve flown over the lava flows in NM doing low levels and it was interesting to drive by them on this trip through NM.

You did not exactly pick the high season to visit. Summers can be brutal as well. Spring is windy. Fall in the 4 corners area is the sweet spot. So much to see further north through Utah.

There is no doubt this was not the time of year to come to some of these places - live and learn. I figured RVers went one of two places in the winter - FL or AZ. I think I was wrong. RVing is good any time any day but I have to learn when the correct seasons are to be a tourist.

It is all about altitude out here. Looks like you had little or no snow at Page. Just after you passed through Flagstaff on the way to Page we had nearly 3' of snow over the following week. Get down to the low desert and you should do well.

Wow! Yeah, we just missed it based on elevation, drive out wasn't bad, I waited until checkout time so it would be warmer getting through some of the roads south on 89A. Grand Canyon got it, was interesting getting in as it's combo snow/ice/clear spots on the road. Just taking it slow and easy with engine brake off in these conditions.
