Im new to this I just bought my first fifth wheel camper it is a 1989 26ft. Holiday Rambler Imperial.
I was wondering where I would find the power converter? It is the old triad converter and i have no idea where to find it.

Maybe someone else here can help but if you’re at a campground don’t hesitate to ask fellow campers. We all learn from each other. I have a motorhome so don’t know your setup.

I appreciate the reply but unfortunately I'm stuck in my backyard

Typically connections are on the drivers side. Look around the left aft side for a power connection. I assume that what you’re trying to do? It may be under a small door.

Well I've looked under every door I've taken all the beds up I've got down underneath the camper I've got done about everything you could think of to find it and I just can't find it anywhere

It shouldn’t be too far from either (a) the batteries or (b) the entry point for your power cord. Follow the wires from the power entry point if you can. It might be in a small storage area that is accessible from inside the RV as well. Look near the previous locations mentioned, but inside the RV.

In our last 5th wheel, you had to remove an access panel in the rear "wall" in the basement to get to the power converter. Effectively it was right behind your first photo. Similarily in another of our 5ver's, it's was between your first photo and a small compartment, again behind an access panel/wall. Neither of these 5vers were a Holiday Rambler.

Safe travels.

I agree with @JRW-NAW, behind the panel in first picture or very nearby. There may be a vent grill for air ventilation nearby and could be behind the grill.

From another Forum

"I had a 1988 Holiday Rambler Imperial and the charger was located under the bed and a box with a timer and on/off switch mounted on the side of bed box. It was basically just a charger and not a inverter like you see today so I would set the timer to just charge the coach batteries periodically for a set amount of time each day while stored. Was not a great setup as it was difficult to not over or under charge batteries. Considered taking it out and replacing with a inverter type charger but never did."
