I found exits on the interstate were good cry stops, and long stretches were good for reflection. After my wife died I found solo traveling a good way to go. I could let the grief surface when it needed to and get used to not having a constant companion. Almost two years later I’m looking forward to traveling again with my new sweetheart once we’re fully vaccinated and things open up. While solo I discovered audio books and loved them for those long stretches of interstate.
Back when I drove a pretreatment truck, radio mistery theater was my thing. When I lost my wife I couldn't drive and follow a story line at the same time.clippty clop, clippty clop, squeak, thump, thump, thump, thump. Whiskey barkeep........
Nothing like a Louie Lamour audio book on a long lonely stretch of highway.
I hope not.just getting ready to do just that with my dog!I think traveling solo would be very boring
I forgot to add that I travel with my two German Shepherd's.
My Lab is a great dog but he can't tell me how far it is to my next exit or what that weather alert blaring on my phone is all about.Your never alone if you have a good dog.
