Small off-door-side bedroom slide on a ‘16 35’ Ventana. Really wasn’t all that bad. Took about an hour. I resisted it for a while but we have a couple trips coming up. When retracting the slide it moves in from the bottom first, then the top catches up, likely creating a bind which may have resulted in a broken gear. Either that or perhaps the controller needs adjustment.
So $804 later its back in service but Im still concerned about the way the slide comes in. I’ll physically assist it in until I can get it looked at by a slideologist. The drive shaft for the slide is so short that there is just enough room to loosen the trans-torque nut, so when reassembling, I installed the wedges into the nut and ran it down a couple threads in the housing before sliding the shaft in place. Make sense? Well pics will help. Cheers.
out with the old, in with the new

pre-assembling the trans torque nut and wedges

Old unit with the trans-torque nut loosened as far as it will go.
