The time finally came after 3 years of use of this resin, really should have changed it last summer but I stretched it. Getting the "quick sand" aka DI resin out is not easy. Here is how you do it and I have both of dirinse.com units their full that stays at home and half that goes with me in the coach.

How about getting the resin in? Easier than getting it out? That’s impressive you got three years out of a tank.

@ARD just replaced hers resin for the water softener and am wondering if she notices a difference. I do know she poured it out onto a towel so it could dry out before discarding. I think the towel is permanently impregnated with the resin.

It comes with a funnel.

I'm not even using my water softener here at Yellowstone's Edge so I'm no help. I tested the water first and it is sooooo good. And I'll have you know @NWIP, I can drink it too. I ran the fridge water (oops sorry, @Neal to go off topic) for a while and it is okay now. Also, it's good right out of the faucet. Okay, back to DI Resin. ?

I don't think this method applies to water softeners, just the DI rinse system. I think @ARD learned from a friend trying to help that you can just dump the resin out of the OTG water softener. DI Rinse doesn't work like that, that stuff doesn't move.
