    What do you dislike most about RV--ing?

    Yes, in the truck stop or rest area, I need to run the generator to use A/C, so it is on all day, if it hot. Inverter is not big enough to start A/C, even with soft start. Make note: stay far away from Kevin.😂😎 I paid big bucks for the generate, therefore I must use it.😎

    I think that’s the test you need to examine before returning them. Someone with a soft start to analyze the amp load at startup and compare to yours.

    I have been in all 3 of mine and no e had soft starts. Bone stock just like the 2 replacements I have had to do. I added micro air soft starts to all of them.. Now the non dometic ac units may have built in soft starts but I bet they are not as good as micro air units

    Air conditioner change

    Thanks, exactly what i did. New AC unit board controlled 10-12 button thermostats and his is a 5. Wired up, AC & heat pump working fine. He ordered a soft start as well. The dealer sold him the AC unit and soft start and the soft start is the wrong one.

    ...thought if everything was is standard equipment the inverter sizing would be adequate to handle the AC . If it is not original then it could be that the inrush current is too high and the AC will shut down. You can instal a soft start drive in most AC units that will lessen the inrush effects
