    Hello from Vermont!

Hi Everyone, We're new to the RV life. Excited to connect with folks here. We joined Harvest Hosts as a host (we have an organic farm), and have truly enjoyed the people that we've met. Look forward to new connections here. Be well! Amy

Welcome to RVForums @1Tulip. For safety I always recommend paying the small fee at a safe campground or also consider Harvest Hosts.

    Alaska 2022

Trapper Creek-Palmer (85 miles) This was a stay at Harvest Host, Alaska Raceway Park which is a NASCAR sponsored track. July 4th weekend so lots going on, Saturday races Sunday drag races and car show. Hosts were awesome and we had great time boondocking.

    Ideas please, ty :)

Try Harvest Hosts. I haven't used it much but I have a friend that travels between Phoenix and Coeur d'Alene Idaho and he uses it for his trips and different routes https://harvesthosts.com/

Question Do RV's come with too many house batteries?

...on the road, going from place to place, I agree the batteries are not used by most people. But if people use rest areas, truck stops, harvest hosts, BLM, Walmarts, or other forms of short term boondocking, then the equation changes very quickly with a residential fridge and todays electronic...

Question Free Camping - Western States

...also more suited to your type of trip than 99 from Red Bluff to Sac Willows Travel center (I-5 and hwy 57) has good overnight parking Harvest Hosts is a good choice for “free” overnights (although you can end up spending some $$ at these locations) and they have a good on-line route/stop...

Tip Don't give up on campground reservations

...this proved yet again as I was having a problem getting out of the Dallas area and heading east. I thought I was going to have to hop Harvest Hosts until Sunday and then find a place to stay for a few days until the already reserved next spot. Today I searched yet again as I needed a plan and...

    Harvest Host members

...not accommodate us, only because they were hosting a wedding and just didn't have room. But, the fabulous experiences we have had with Harvest Hosts far outweigh that one. Super program, and as long as it's available, we will continue our membership. We always call ahead to make our...

    There went Walmart parking

Wow, that's weird. And no, I never have either and wouldn't for the people we see on TV these days. I'll pay for safety. Harvest Hosts is your best bet for an overnight free (after membership) and enjoy a great destination usually as well.

How do you find a RV Park?

...NON trip planning and just doing CG searching. RV Trip Wizard is more designed for planning longer trips of multiple days, etc. And yes Harvest Hosts is another one I use for my overnights vs. a $70 KOA overnight. But Harvest Hosts requires more research to avoid situations like I recently...

Where to stay on the road.

...using this method and have discovered some really nice parks doing so. I’ve downloaded half a dozen campground apps, but other than Harvest Hosts and KOA, I never use them, and only go looking for a KOA when I need full hook-ups and can’t find anything else. KOA CGs are dependable, clean and...

Leaving Parking Lights on at Rest Stops?

We’ve done Harvest Hosts several times and try to when we can. Sometimes we just want to make a quick stop, eat diner, hit the bed and then get back at it and get to the destination.

Planning our first ever big trip!

Have you learned about Harvest Hosts? For an annual membership, it gives access to over 1,200 wineries, breweries, distilleries, museums, farms and golf courses. Overnight for $0. All they ask is that you consider patronizing their business. 2-3 stays “pays” the annual membership versus...

    RV resorts Full Hookups Finder.

...between google maps and my Garmin 890 I can always find a suitable park while traveling long distances with no reservations. I also use Harvest Hosts while on the road, but these sites rarely have hook-ups. KOA has an app and I use them (although not their app) occasionally as they are...

Where were you with your NEWMAR today?

Stayed at a wonderful Harvest Host in Atkins, Arkansas a couple of nights ago....Paw Paw's Pecan Farm. The absolute quiet and peace of being parked between the rows of pecan trees was truly uplifting. Charlotte and Billy were kind and welcoming hosts. The fudge and the pecans, plain, brittled...

    Walmart Overnight

@sheridany have you considered Harvest Hosts? Safer in my opinion and a great experience visiting wineries, golf courses, etc. I've been to a few in great destinations out in the country with great views, very private and isolated, also some that were busy wineries and enjoyable.

    Question 2024 Dutchstar fuel economy

...with my answer, "There is nothing cheap about traveling in a motorhome". We're leaving this morning for 4 days staying at various Harvest Hosts locations in the Texas Hill Country Winery areas. Whether I get 5mpg or 15mpg, we're still going. I truly dread the day I have to hang up the...

What campground membership do you have and how are they?

We are big boondocking fans vs RV parks. So Harvest Hosts w the golf course option works great for us. Since some HH sites have noise/generator restrictions, our RV has solar panels and works great there.

    Answered Camp Memberships

We did same - in the past we got a lot of good out of Passport America and KOA because of family that we visited in certain areas. The last long trip we made, we got good Sam and it paid for itself in that one trip. What we do now is buy discounts as needed, and only if we think we'll use it...
