    Question about connecting power.

As a little reminder to turn off the breakers: The next time you plug in or plug out your big plug at the pedestal, look at the blades when they are still energized and you have the plug at the half-way point. Then imagine you re-grip and wrap your fingers around the insulated body and touch the...

First time winterizing -- how much pink stuff do i need?

40 foot class A. I also blow the water from the pipes using compressed air. I do that to reduce dilution. I then follow with "anti-freeze". With 1.5 baths and a clothes washer, I use 5 gallons. FYI... RV "anti-freeze" does in fact freeze, but when it does, it does not swell-up to burst the pipes.

    Where were you 91101

I was in Germany on Sep 11, 2001. The news was devastating, like it was to everyone. I was scheduled to fly home on Saturday, 9-15. With the airways closed, we had no clue as to when that might be, now. The remaining week was long and numb. Looking over our shoulder at any public outing. Very...

    Slide out Lock arm

The nut is a jam nut holding in what is sometimes called a "bullet point". Imagine a set screw that has the center drilled out and a spring loaded ball is inserted. Then, the edge of the hole is bent in a bit to hold in the ball. Now, the ball is protruding from the end of the screw and is...

    Poor RVI support.

RVIBrake has been purchased by Lippert. Don't expect any improvement. (think POS Kwikee steps) RViBrake Lippert

    Resolved Block Heater

Update to whether or not block heater is operational. 1. Ohm check across hot and neutral of the plug for the heater: 19.8 to 20.0 ohms 2. 110 volts with 20 ohms = 5.5 amps (Ohm’s law) 3. Started generator, switched off inverter and charger. Amp draw on L2 = 2 amps 4. Plugged in the block...

    Resolved Block Heater

That's where mine is too. In the half-bath. It was fully on, but switched off then on again and no change. It seems that this breaker is the only "switch" in the circuit. Nothing in the controls cabinet overhead and nothing on the dashboard. I've only found this breaker and the plug for the...

    Resolved Block Heater

I do appreciate the suggestions. However, with the coach not readily available to apply or confirm the help and with the day ending, I’m not able to follow through. Then, tomorrow’s high in single digits with several inches of snow, I doubt I’ll be able to then either. The good news is that...

    Resolved Block Heater

Yes, that’s right. I was looking at the load shedding page. Thank you. On the page showing loads on line 1 and 2, line 1 is zero, line 2 started at 6 and reducing over time due to the battery charging load.

    Resolved Block Heater

Yes, zero amps indicated on the load center, on the same line of test that indicates block heater “on”. Yes, 66 amps available. Both legs are producing voltage. I did not check the gen breaker since it is producing voltage.

    Resolved Block Heater

Pizza as the pizza Gods meant it to be

https://www.haystack.tv/v/pizzeria-charges-120-hawaiian-pie-discourage-customers $120 pizza? I actually prefer a pineapple pizza, but not at that price.

Question Jack pads to level RV

My preference for unlevel sites is to put pads under the low tires, get it roughly close to level, then use the jacks for the final level.

    GFI outlets not working

The tags simply imply that the receptacle that is labeled is a protected recept by a real GFCI recept or a GFCI breaker. The recept or breaker has a reset and test button. Sometimes, in RVs, the recepts are hidden fairly well. Many are mounted underneath things like cabinets. Some are inside a...

View levelers too close to pavement

Typically, hydraulic leveling cylinders have an array of mounting holes. Is it possible that they could be moved up? Is there room for them to be raised at the frame mounting bolts?

Cold Water from Hot water faucets

If you have an outside faucet, be sure that the faucet valve(s) itself is closed and not just the wand valve is closed. Same for the shower, make sure the mixing valve is in the shut-off position.

Odd question about towed battery charging.

The best way would be to measure the battery voltage on the towed vehicle. 1. With the towed connected to the tow and both engine not running, measure and note the battery voltage with a voltmeter. It should be around 12 volts. 2. Start just the tow vehicle and again, measure the voltage at the...
