Thanks, most importantly I want to make sure it will handle the 30a requirements.
Noise, size and price are after.
I'm sure I will hear more in the days ahead of my purchase.
Thanks again for reaching out.
First step is softstart on AC units. Second step is a bit of a complex wiring change in the circuit breaker panel @Chuggs architected. Essentially we have a 3 way switch in that area now that tells AC1 to get power from either shore power or inverter. The 3 way switch essentially is a "shore...
question one. no idea, a motor can require as much as 10 times running name plate power to start. The softstart can help with that.
question three. The time here is 7:40 the panel output is around 300w from 1000w of solar tilted at roughly 15 deg. Flat they would not be producing half what...
Thanks for the response. Kind of makes sense, but both the Magnum Inverter and Magnum Monitor Owner's Manual says to disconnect AC power. Someone also posted the "soft reset" steps and emphasized disconnecting AC power. He said "ask me how I know." Sounds like he may have found out the hard...
Hi - Just purchase this little tag along and everything seems to work fine except the fridge. There is no visible control setting and it started freezing my soda after a few days of camping? Is there someplace in the back to reset it or do we just use a cooler for soft drinks? This is a short...
Indeed! I agree with thee!
The thing is: I absolutely love model building and making things. But this may have to wait. What makes it difficult is that I am not getting any younger, and every time I have been ready to start my building, as in setting up a little spot, the rug gets pulled out...
For Sale or trade for a Ford Truck of Equal value $16,500 Clear blue TX title 1999 Fleetwood Pace Arrow 31e sleeps 6 it has the Ford V10 with 48,712 Original miles new start battery runs great My last trip was to Indiana a little over a 2K mile month long trip everything worked as it should...
If you use luxury vinyl planking with the tile look like we did, the floor has a "soft" feel. It's not slippery at all. Ceramic tile would be hard and very slick when wet. I wanted ceramic tile like the new coaches have but Classis Coach Works that did my remodel said that they quit installing...
Let me first say I appreciate and understand everyone’s concern for our safety, yes we got out safely without a bruise except maybe my ego 😢
Once off Top of the World Highway you cross into Alaska. Road to the border is wide with soft shoulder’s but easily passable with opposing traffic...
Hello,
I'm new to campers but not new to camping and towing. My SO and I are looking to purchase a camper. We found a 2018 Coachman Apex Nano 185BH for sale by private party. The listing says there is a soft spot in the floor just inside the door and the awning has started to separate as well...
...it would draw both, but I don't know. I had once heard to think of electricity like water, and if there's 'pressure' from both a 30 amp and 15 amp it seems both would 'pour out'. Yes? No? The splitter is cheaper than a $300+ softstart device, and takes no brains to install. but, yeah, well.
I second the Hughes Autoformer. I have the exact same one Neal does. When the voltage is low the Hughes Autoformer will boost the voltage up to 10% to keep it more stable. I have to think this will help my appliances last longer. I also have the plug-in digital voltage meter so I can watch...
1) Any idea on how much less amperage surge a SoftStart will require?
2) I agree that a generator is a good idea, just thought I might be able to find a way combining truck, solar and battery bank, eliminating one more expense.
3) Also agree on the solar sizing. That's a toughy. I am noodling...
Hey all.
New to travel trailers and we just bought our first.
got it at a good deal because it needs some work. The previous owners had a leak in the sink and the whole floor pretty much got wet and is now soft and rotten. I will have to pretty much replace most of the interior floor as well...
...and after repair ,i would have same problem again soon since those units are unreliable (per rv repair guy).
I have a 7500 kw genset and fresh batteries. Would doing watt conversion and adding 2 softstarts run 2-13500 btu units and all the rest of stuff like mw, coffee pot etc. easily?
thanks
Yes we've come to the conclusion that, as Rich put it, we don't want to 'displease the electronics' on an expensive rv. We saw many thoughtful comments about safety, good explanations from knowledgeable folks. Thank you all - we've decided to bite the bullet and look into soft-start (on sale...
...main generator. If I were to really think I was going to boondock enough to buy that little generator I would also invest in at least one softstart kit for one of the roof AC's too. Now that I've written that and sit here looking at it, I think I will do just that. Pretty sure I can come up...
