Welcome aboard. Sorry I can't help you with your AC question but I hope someone does. I might be interested as well.Has anyone installed a 12 volt air conditioner on their truck camper & how has it performed? We live & camp in Missouri & have to have reliable air conditioning LOL
Okay! I'll stick with running the genny when I have to and move from boondocking to an RV Park when it gets too hot.I have installed a few. Many options now. For smaller van campers and trailers they can work out really well. Major hurdles are that you really need a lot of battery power and most are smaller units' capacity wise. Typical capacities will be around 9K to 12K Btu./Hr. and these sizes will require up to 100 A/H at 12 volts Lithium for each hour you want to actually have cooling. Other unknowns are how long they will last. Comon for typical RV AC units to last up to 15 years. Newer stuff is not as durable or serviceable.
