Trying to restore a 1988 class a mallard sprinter having no luck on finding a owner manual and can not get the thing to turn over. Almost like it isn't getting fuel. Replaced the fuel regulator. Any ideas?

It is confusing. “Not Turning over” and getting fuel are not related. Do you mean the starter is cranking, but the engine will not fire? One way to find if fuel delivery is the problem is to use starting fluid if the starter is cranking.
Have someone turn the starter on, while you spray some starting fluid in the air intake. If the engine fires and runs for few seconds, it means your fuel system is a suspect.

Yes - starting fluid / ether / "Explosion In A Can" is an excellent troubleshooting tool in these situations. It'll help you determine if your engine has either a "no fuel" or a "no ignition spark" problem.

But that fluid is tough on the cylinder wall to piston oil film and I try to use it sparingly in these situations - never as a perpetual crutch to get an engine to start.

So . . . does the motor not spin? Or, spins but does not start?

Rick
