Hi all- I'm new to motorhome travel (10/22). I've had/have other types(5th wheel /toyhauler) of rv though. We purchased this class c in October of 2022. We are still in "discovery mode".
We had/have a water leak in the bedroom slideout(while extended out) during a rain storm.
So, here is my dumb question. Shouldn't the seal (in good condition) prevent any leakage? If, a bad seal, how difficult to replace?
Thanks- Bill

Yes and no, was the camper level when set up? Which seal? There are different kinds. The last one I replaced was just a blade style that pushed on over a straight metal edge with a screw on each side. Most likely Robertson but I did see the odd style that is usually found on cargo trailers the other day. A visual check will usually show the leak if the seal is torn. The seals should be cleaned and lubricated to make them slide properly not roll under or tear.

Yes, level when slides moved. Bedroom slide leaked when out. I assume the inside seal leaked. I can't see the seal when slide is in, but maybe with a mirror.
