Hello, I am new I and wanted to ask if anyone out there is utilizing a 2WD 2500 Cummins Crew Cab to tow their travel trailers / 5th wheel. If so, do you regret not purchasing a 4X4 ? I have an opportunity to purchase a 2010 2WD 2500 Crew cab with 78000 miles. I am still in the market for a travel trailer. I am not sure if the 2WD will be sufficient. I Do not plan on going into a extreme weather conditions or non-pavement roads if it is possible. I would appreciate any feedback that anyone can provide. Thank you

For towing itself, there's a low probability of needing 4x4. But what else will you use the truck for?

Where do you live? Do you have to contend with snow and ice in the winter?

Where do you store your trailer? We keep ours in a storage lot that's basically a grassy field so if we needed to get our trailer in or out when it's been raining heavily or snowing, it could get dicey with only RWD.

Do you own a boat or plan to get one in the future?

Plan to do any off roading? (I assume not with a truck that size, but you never know.)

Thank you for your response. We currently live in Southern Arizona. We may see snow once every few years and really does not stick to the ground. If we want to enjoy the snow, we do have to drive into the mountains about 1 hour away. We do not have a boat and won't utilize this vehicle for off roading. The future travel trailer will be parked at our home (even compact ground). Our thoughts are to travel to different camp grounds visiting throughout the states. This is all new to us, and since we found a great vehicle at the year, miles, and condition we are reaching out to people who may have experience in this area of their lives, and provide their personal experiences especially those who may have a 2 Wheel Drive and the pros and cons of their choice of vehicle. Thank you for your feedback
