Hello All;
Recently had issues with rain leaking into my unit.
First time as a couple of weeks ago during a somewhat heavy rain event.
Was sitting in back on the couch and felt water thru the light fixture. Rain only
lasted a few minutes on this occasion. Actually had the van in for some maintenance
at the local Blue Compass dealer and notified them about it. Was advised that
RV's can have leaking issues during heavy wind driven rain events and that
may have been the issue.
Has some more heavy rain a week later one evening and then noticed some more
leaking thru the light fixture and also the rear cargo compartment was extremely wet.
Took it back to facility and they tried to recreate leak and they advised the could not.
Finally I asked them to remove the cover for the aircon unit which covers the rear
or the van. There is a border around it and that is where we all thought the water
was coming in. When they removed it, they found that the drainage culverts were clogged
with leaves, dirt, and twigs. So they cleaned it all out, serviced the aircon unit while at it,
and sealed it back up. We all thought was it. But got some more rain a few days later
and there is more water in the rear again. Did not notice any coming thru light in back.
RV facility says they have no clue at this point.
So does anyone have any idea how this water is getting in. Have noticed that its wetter
on the right side of the compartment. I'm wondering if there is some king of drainage
culvert that is clogged. Or perhaps its coming in from the awning bracket somehow.
Any info is greatly appreciated. Have attached some photos for reference.
