I just want to be sure ..... do the electric awnings on the Ventana LE have a locking mechanism? If so, I can't find anything about it. If not, what holds them in place? The last thing I want to see is the awning swinging out at 65 mph.

Thanks
chuck

I believe the awnings for your unit are Dometic. They should have a wind sensor that will have them retaract if it gets too windy but don’t wait for them to retract.

You might be able to find info;

On our 2014 Ventana LE, the Dometic awnings were self-locking when they were retracted. We never had any issues with ours.

Good advice on not waiting for the wind sensors to bring the awnings in. Ours did work, after a fashion, but it did take quite a bit of bouncing about before it happened. When the wind starts to bounce the awnings around, bring them in. A sudden, extra strong gust can damage them before the autoretract does its job.

On our DS although they are Girard awnings, they can not be activated when the engine is running. Try turning on the ignition or starting the engine and see if you can extend your awning.

Thanks everyone. The awning works fine. I was just concerned how they stayed in place once retracted. Sounds like its built into the system and I don't need to worry about it.
Another issue resolved. Thanks
