Hi everyone! I recently purchased a 2023 Chevy Tahoe that I’ve set up to tow behind my motor home. The manual shows how to put the transfer case in neutral, which works just fine, but when I shut off the engine I get a message that the vehicle is not in park. The accessory power, displays, and warning chime remain on, but I can tow it. If I select park, the transfer case remains in neutral and all the vehicle shuts down normally, but when the wheels move the electronic parking brake engages. Has anyone figured out a way to shut down in neutral so the parking brake does not engage and so the battery isn’t being drained by all the screens and accessories?

@kevinbradley Sounds like you are missing the "
9. Disconnect the negative battery cable at
the battery and secure the nut and bolt.
Cover the negative battery post with a
non-conductive material to prevent any
contact with the negative battery
terminal" step. I looked yo the owners manual online. Might revisit your owners manual to confirm.

Thanks so much! I was reading the wrong section of the manual and didn’t see the section on recreational vehicle towing.

There are a number of ways to disconnect the ground battery terminal. Many have installed a solenoid with a switch in the cabin . Makes it convenient and consistent.
