I recently ordered the pig tail hose to replace the one from tank to regulator that was leaking but I noticed the new one although it fits but the orifice on regulator is different the one I took off was original to the 2012 coach but it seems to work the same was just wondering seems the openings are a bit more smaller than original equipment on a 2012 Gulfstream 14RBC ameri-lite travel trailer 17’ single propane tank system any thoughts?
Thanks a bunch
Fernando

If it works and doesn't leak, don't worry about it.

Don't try to fix things that don't need fixing. Your day will go much better.

Typically, the orifice on gas lines differ based on type of gas. Natural gas is usually about twice the size as propane. For example: if Natural gas orifice is 1/8" the propane equivalent might be 1/16". Your new hose looks to be made for propane. I am not a plumber and the above is solely based upon some experience in such things 😉 When connected, if no leaks and everything works as it should...you're done !

Thanks for the response 👍

The original looks like it would flow more volume but if the replacement provides enough gas to run your stove, furnace, water heater, and fridge all at the same time, it wont make any difference. You could test this by running your furnace and water heater (fridge takes so little it really shouldn’t be a factor) and then turning on all your stove burners. If you have good (normal) flame then you have enough supply. If not you would probably want to search for a supply line properly sized for the application, but what you have will do in the mean time.

Thank you for your response will do try it out first if it works great if not find a more suitable one greatly appreciated

I thought that is what drill bits are used for. Make small orifices larger.

At the supply side, that makes no difference. I had a 3 pig settup at my house in Maine. It had tiny little 1/4 inch lines supplying a 1 inch iron line into the house. And from there was 5/8 copper for 50 ft and 3/8 for 25 to my stove. Other things were in this line also. Propane gas fireplace, hot water heater, 140,000 btu Weil-McLain boiler. All could run at the same time.

I thought of that too but didn’t want to suggest it. I do a lot of things for myself that I wouldn’t recommend to someone I dont know.
