A/c not working

Bob, what type of rig is this. are you on shore power or generator? have you had issues with AC before.
 
This is a 2017 zion
No problems with the a/c at all.
Same noise if on shore power or not
Also
Do you happen to know
If you can walk on the roof of the promaster. I doubt it but just curious

Bob, sorry not familiar with that rig. But others might be. Humming usually means power is available to unit, but something is preventing compressor operation. Usual culprits are the capacitors that facilitate starting. Normally, you can visually inspect these to see if the can has expanded or shows external signs of damage. AC tech will have gear to trouble shoot. If you pull top and look at components, also check wiring to make sure something isn't damaged or disconnected.
