A/C question.

I have 2016 Grand Design Imagi e 2600rb with a 15k a/c. When the a/c starts up the fan comes on first then when the compressor kicks in we get a harmonic sound like two engines out of sink. Does anyone have any suggestions on a fix? Thanks.

One of our AC's had an out of balance sound, the tech found a balance weight on the fan an shifted positions till the fan operated in balance.

Are you new to rv a/c units. They are noisy! The advantage of split units is the separation of compressor from air handler.
Because the compressor motor is heavily loaded it runs at a lower speed due to field slip than the fan motor does. That would account for the harmonics. You may find that a lower fan setting may make the noise more manageable.

Thanks for the replies. Unfortunatley there is only on and off with this unit as far as I know.
