Trying to find a quieter backup beeper that still is effective. There is a Smart Backup Alarm that limits the sound output to X above ambient noise.
Sounds like a better solution than some noise maker set on Max.
I went the simple route. Got a small piece of bubble wrap with the silver backing and zip tied it over beeper. That made it possible to hear the wife on the phone while backing up.
The Smart Backup Beeper was a good choice. Fit in place of OEM unit, considerably quieter. The sound reduction is most noticeable when backing out of the storage unit.
Wife is a happy girl
When you're backing into your spot in the Rv park after dark, nobody wants to hear that loud beeping. But there are times when it would be totally irresponsible, or even dangerous to be silent. I default to on, and off when it's inappropriate.
That reminds me of the time I was idling the MH waiting for the car at the island to finish fueling and just as the car pulled away another car darted in. The driver said, "Oh, I didn't see you there".
