Why didn't I hitch up my fifth wheel and head south after Christmas? What was I thinking?

Yeah that will make it a bit of a chore. I talked with friends about this around Christmas and offered to let them stage their rigs at my place (1200’) but instead they bailed on the 26th and beat the snow.

Yeah but it almost froze down here in Brownsville the past couple days!

I was down that way in January thinking a gulf coast tour was in order. But I had sailed into Glaveston in Jan 2006 and it was 29* and snowing so I knew it might not be sunny and warm. When they turned me around at the Cameron Ferry (this rig is too big - last one was ok) I decided to head north, but cold was coming south so I headed back west across southern TX, NM and AZ. Had some high winds (sustained 50+ mph) and low temps but nothing too severe. Ended up on the west shore of the Salton Sea in the 70’s and all was well. Live and learn. I was there in December - could have just stayed....

Love snow! Mother Nature's way of saying "take a break".

Love seeing the pics of snow, just never want to be the one taking them again.
